Q: What's one thing about motherhood that has totally surprised you?
My priorities have shifted so beautifully when it comes to what I truly care about. I no longer spend energy on the little things that once kept me up at night. My heart and focus are with my kids and my family, and that’s where my joy is. Motherhood has brought me such peace, it’s helped me honor my boundaries with love and confidence. By caring for my spirit and protecting my mental health, I can show up fully for my children, my husband, and myself.
Q: What’s your go-to "I have 2 minutes to myself" self-care move?
At just three months postpartum with two toddlers, self-care looks a little different these days. Honestly, sometimes it’s as simple as brushing my teeth and changing out of my pajamas, and that’s a win.
Finish the sentence: “Before I had a baby, I swore I’d never... stay in my pajamas all day, but now I totally do.”
Q: Any fave teams in the NBA? 😉
Nope. We took our talents overseas this year!

Q: Which part of motherhood came most naturally to you, and which part has been the biggest learning curve?
Meeting my children where they are emotionally has come naturally to me so far. Now that we’re entering the true toddler years, with all the big feelings that come with them, feel even more committed to raising emotionally competent kids. I believe giving them the tools to understand and express their emotions will be such a gift, not just for childhood, but for their adult lives as well.
I’d say the biggest learning curve in motherhood has been meals. I know it sounds silly and very “first world problems,” but dinner truly feels like the bane of my existence some days. I never realized how poor my own diet was until I had kids. Not only is it tough just getting them to eat, but the pressure of constantly coming up with new, nutritious meals each week can feel exhausting. And nothing stings quite like putting time and effort into a meal only for them to reject it. The struggle is real! Some weeks, my kids stick to their favorites, and other weeks I try introducing new things, always keeping their go-to meals on standby. Because honestly, “fed is best” doesn’t just apply to breastmilk or formula, it’s a motherhood motto that lasts well beyond the baby stage.
