3 Tips to Combat Dry Winter Skin

As the days get shorter, the temps get chillier, and the winter wind gets, well, windier... Sensitive skin can get drier and itchier!

Winter can be brutal on the skin and can cause a great deal of discomfort, especially for little ones who are prone to dryness and other sensitivities.

But, never fear! We have some tips to make sure your babe’s skin is hydrated and silky smooth all winter long.

  1. Slather a ‘lil TLC on their most sensitive areas. Before they go out to play in the chilly air and snow, wipe some of our All Over Ointment on the areas they’re most prone to dry spots or irritation. Our AOO is made with beeswax and honeysuckle extract, which’ll form a barrier over their skin and keep your little ones’ skin hydrated no matter how many snow angels they make or however many times they sled down the driveway.

  2. Be sure to protect their skin from the sun. Even though the winter sun may not be as warm as it is in the summer, your little ones (and you too, mama!) can still get burnt, which in turn causes more dryness and discomfort. And, if snow falls in your area, the sun may reflect on the snow and cause burns too-- did you know that snow reflects up to 80 percent of the sun's UV light?! Thankfully, we’ve got just the thing to keep the whole fam protected-- our Mineral Sunscreen is broad spectrum SPF 50, safe for sensitive skin, and won't leave an icky residue or greasy feel.

  3. Lock in moisture after bathtime. As soon as they get out of their warm bath, lather them up head to toe with some of TT’s Everyday Lotion. It’ll lock in allll that bathtime moisture and will act as a great base layer of moisturization.
