Mama Minute with Chelsie Hill

Meet Chelsie Hill—a professional dancer, mom, entrepreneur, and founder of the Rollettes wheelchair dance team, who has built incredible platforms for disability representation and female empowerment. At 17, a drunk driving accident changed her life's trajectory, but her resilience and determination to thrive are an inspiration to moms everywhere. When we first heard Chelsie's story, we couldn't stop thinking about the power of intentional, and joyful caregiving. Chelsie isn't just raising a daughter—she's creating a movement of representation, love, and unbridled possibility. Her approach to motherhood is a masterclass in turning every moment into an opportunity for growth and connection.

Q: What's one thing about motherhood that has totally surprised you?

One thing about motherhood that has totally surprised me is just how adaptable both I and my daughter have become. As a mama with a disability, I initially had concerns about how I would navigate certain aspects of parenting, but I’ve been amazed at how naturally solutions present themselves when love and determination are at the center of everything. My daughter has also taught me so much about patience, resilience, and the power of unconditional love. It’s been a beautiful reminder that motherhood isn’t about doing things perfectly—it’s about showing up, being present, and creating a world where she feels supported and loved, no matter what.

Q: You've built such an inspiring platform around disability representation and empowering women. How has your messaging evolved since becoming a mama?

Becoming a mama has made my message even more personal and purposeful. It’s not just about breaking barriers for myself anymore—it’s about creating a world where my daughter, and others, see strength and possibility in every form. Motherhood taught me to embrace vulnerability and authenticity, showing that empowerment comes from thriving through challenges and inspiring others to do the same.

Q: What's one of your favorite self-care rituals or products right now?

One of my favorite self-care rituals right now is time blocking moments for myself in the midst of a busy schedule. Whether it’s a quick workout, a few minutes of journaling, or simply enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, those little moments help me recharge and stay grounded. As for products, I’m loving anything that makes my skin feel nourished and refreshed—like a great moisturizer or a calming face mask. Self-care doesn’t have to be elaborate; it’s about creating small, meaningful pockets of peace.

Q: Which Tubby Todd product do you and your daughter use the most?

My daughter Jaelyn and I have a few favorites! When we head to the park, we always use the Mineral Sunscreen to keep her protected. During bath time, the Hair + Body Wash is a staple—it smells amazing and leaves her skin so soft. We recently got the Spring Collection and are absolutely loving it! After her bath, I use the Lavender Lotion on her, which is perfect for calming her before bed. Tubby Todd has truly become a part of our daily routine! Q: Is your daughter excited to get even more involved in dance as she gets older?

She’s definitely showing a lot of curiosity and joy when it comes to dance, which is so exciting to see! But as much as I love the idea of her growing up in the world of dance, I really want her to explore everything her heart desires. Whether it’s dance or something completely different, my hope is to support her in finding what makes her happiest. It’s such a fun age to see all their little interests starting to bloom!

Q: How do you approach teaching your daughter about body positivity and self-love?

Coming from a disabled mom, teaching my daughter about body positivity and self-love feels deeply personal. I want her to see me embracing my body and know that all bodies are beautiful, strong, and worthy of love. I hope she grows up celebrating uniqueness, understanding that our differences make us special, and knowing that beauty comes in so many forms. My goal is for her to feel empowered to love herself fully and see the beauty in everyone around her.

Q: What's one thing you're most excited about in the year to come?

I'm so excited about everything this year has in store, especially with my wheelchair dance team, the Rollettes, and our upcoming Rollettes Experience event in July. It’s such a special time where women with disabilities come together to celebrate community, empowerment, and creativity through dance, workshops, and so much more. As a mom, I’m also looking forward to all the little moments with my daughter—watching her grow, explore, and experience life in her own unique way is truly the greatest joy. This year feels full of possibility, and I can’t wait to see it all unfold!
