Our New Spring Line in Collaboration with Jacqui Saldana, Baby Boy Bakery

We're so excited to share our new, limited edition Tubby Sweets Spring Line designed in collaboration with Jacqui Saldana of Baby Boy Bakery. Today we are getting to know Jacqui a little better here on The Mama Blog.

Hi Jacqui! We are so excited to collaborate with you. We are all total fangirls! Tell us about you:

My name is Jacqui and I am a mother of two. My family and I live in Los Angeles where we do our best to live a life full of adventure. I run a lifestyle and recipe blog called Baby Boy Bakery. In addition to blogging, I run a small online shop curated with items designed to help parents create and capture memories with their children.

Can you tell us what the inspiration was for the line and why you chose that direction? Be honest: do you have a favorite scent?

To me, there is nothing better than the sweet scent that carries with it hints of citrus or cream. I think citrus and pungent fruits have an uplifting mood quality and when they are in the air I feel happy, excited even! Hints of creamy vanilla to me are comforting. Those warm notes bring me back into the kitchen with my mother whipping up homemade frosting.

We know you have a unique perspective on motherhood, and really live every day to the fullest because of what you’ve been through. How do you make every day count? How do you make life sweet? (And how can we do to that too?!)

I know when I say my family and I make each day count it can sound a bit overwhelming and few may think, "Ya right!" Though I think making the most of each day doesn't have to be anything grandiose. It can be getting some work done, then creating a fort in your living room and making popcorn to enjoy inside your makebelieve castle or pirate ship. As a parent, it can be hard to understand that your children look to us for fun and adventurous answers that instill wonder and happiness. And spoiler alert ... it doesn't take much to achieve that! I believe as parents we sometimes put too much pressure on ourselves. In my family, we make a great deal about what we have. We paint the picture of wonder in our small apartment and make our daily activities exciting. It was on that very notion I was thrilled to collaborate with Tubby Todd. You see, bath time in our home is quite the experience with bubbles and music playing on our record player. My husband started that tradition of playing our vinyl records only during bath time. Our children will pick our a record to play while I brew up the most delicious bubble bath. Bath time for us is more of a tradition than a task. And that, that is how you have to view life!

You're a busy lady! Tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind your Baby Boy Bakery Shop? What other projects are you working on right now?

It is the most fun to create products to inspire parents to connect with their children and capture in ways of photos and writing. Parenthood is one wild journey with great moments as well as very low moments. I think all deserve to be remembered. I also believe that we do not need to leave our house to make real memories. Our kitchen has become the backdrop of learning and some of our most sacred family moments. The products in my Baby Boy Bakery Shop heighten that notion and bring it forth in the homes of families all over. Every month I put out a new cooking kit for kids called We Cook. I also just released my third memory book for parents designed to capture their child's birthday each year. You can also find fun cooking tools, kids aprons, and party supplies. I hope when people visit my shop they become inspired to create adventures with their children.
Thank you Jacqui! We are honored to be able to work with you. Thank you for the light you bring to the online community on loving our little ones and enjoying every moment with them!
