Ingredient Spotlight: Potassium Sorbate

Fruity patootie! We all love to eat summer berries, so why not put them in our products? We believe natural products don't have to be stinky, sticky, or stuffy. We're all about good, clean fundown to our nitty-gritty ingredients. We follow good manufacturing practices to make sure every ingredient is clearly sourced, clean, animal cruelty-free, and all-natural. Today, we're talking about Potassium Sorbate!

Potassium Sorbate

Pronounced: "Po-tas-see-um Sor-bate"

What it is

Potassium Sorbate is the potassium salt derivative of sorbic acid- a natural preservative found in berries.  Potassium Sorbate is a white salt commonly used as a food preservative, and is found in food, wine and personal care products.

What it does

Potassium Sorbate is a natural, food-grade "preservative" used to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold and yeast and increase the shelf life of a product.  It is because of Potassium Sorbate that we don't have to use nasty parabens in our products!

Where we use it

We use Potassium Sorbate in our Everyday Lotion, because it is mild, non-irritating and a perfect substitute to harsh, irritating ingredients.

We use all natural ingredients that are safe for your children, from age newborns to ninety. Read more about our #tubbytoddingredients like: Avocado Oil, Menthol and Lavender Oil.
