Safe Alternative to Bleach

This summer we're bringing the clothesline back in style! Bleach might be effective, but it's full of nasty chemicals. (Have you read the lengthy warning label on the front of it?) Try this trick the next time you're frustrated with stubborn stains but don't want to turn to harsh bleach.
1. Wash your baby's clothes as you normally would, with a mild, fragrance-free detergent. If the stain is particularly bad (or old) you can treat it with a paste of baking soda and water before adding it to your washing machine.
2. If stains remain after laundering, don't toss the clothes in the dryer just yet — hang or lay wet clothes directly in the warm sun outside. The sun bleaches and often rids clothes of natural stains (think baby spit-up, formula, poop, and food).
So ditch the bleach (if you haven't already!) and give the sun a try...it might surprise you!
