Beeswax is one of the main ingredients in our fragrance-free All Over Ointment. Just like the name implies, it is a completely natural ingredient made by bees! It's essentially purified wax from the bee's honeycomb, and is made by melting the honeycomb in water, straining it, and cooling it down. It is lubricating and moderately wax-like, which makes our All Over Ointment rub on smooth and silky while still feeling a little bit water-resistant on the skin.
Beeswax is a really versatile ingredient that not only thickens our All Over Ointment, but serves doubly duty by also conditioning and healing skin. Beeswax is similar to honey in that it carries strong antibacterial properties and helps heal wounds by providing a protective barrier to prevent infection.
